Christy's Secret Santa

My daughter Christy is participating in Secret Santa at her office this week. I took a few pictures of the creations that I made to put her goodies in. I ran across the neatest blog from which the ideas for these first two creations came from. It is Dandelion Designs but I warn you!!! You will have so much fun there you will get LOST for hours!!!

Inside Out Box

Little Slide Box

This next creation came from a similar place -Mel Stampz - this blog comes with the same warning as above.

Cute Box Alert!

Hanging Star Tutorial

This is a step by step tutorial for the Hanging Star Printable which is the next post.

Little surprise at the end!!!

1. Cut out all pieces.

2. Fold or score and fold where indicated by red lines. If printed on card stock you may need
to score to get sharp folds.

3. Glue all five pieces of the star together by gluing the tab to the side of the piece that you would
like to have next to it.

4. Punch the dangling embellishments on the top and bottom. Punch the star. Refer to
completed picture for placement of punch.

5. Finish your star by adding a hanger across the top and dangle your charms from the bottom.
Your completed star can be embellished and finished many ways! You could use wire, ribbon,
- whatever!! In these examples, I used wire garland, raffia, and added some ribbon.

If you would like to make your own hanging star, you can download the template HERE.

(OK - that was the surprise! - the template)

Please share with me a picture of what you made and I will post it!!!

It would be so much fun to see what you can come up with!!

Basket Flower

These are the instructions for the flower we did on the basket.

This works best with 2 sided paper. We sponged the back side of our single sided paper to create a 2 sided paper look! (Remember?) However in this tutorial - the paper is indeed 2 sided.

Using a scallop circle, (this one was cut with a Spellbinders die) fold in half as shown in diagram.

Count 4 scallops from the left and fold in with creased sides touching.

Count 2 scallops up from baseline and fold backwards from baseline to left side fold.

Now - your front should look like this.

Flip to back. It should look like this.

Fold right to left 3 scallops from the right. This picture is a little misleading. (It's a camera thing!!) You see a mountain fold (outward) - you will be doing a valley fold. (inward)

And now from the front - it should look like......THIS!!!!!!

Unfold to full circle and cut in half on center crease.

You now have 2 pieces that look like this...

Now - refold the pieces up to make them look like this....

Repeat with all 8 pieces. LOOK how BEAUTIFUL these are!!! FUN!!! EH?

Now you will begin to assemble the flower by placing the different sections next to each other as in this photo.

Keep Going........

Continue adding sections until it is all done!!! WOW - isn't this AWESOME!!!

If you so choose - you can then add some sort of embellishment to the center of your flower. A button, bead, small flower, jewel - whatever looks great!

Thanks to Christi Lee for all of the WORK behind this tutorial! I LOVE CHRISTI!!! :)

Mini Maze Album

This Mini Maze Album creates a great little 3 x 3 mini album.

Materials:
1 sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper (any square size paper would work - your album would just turn out a different size!!)
1 piece of 6-1/2 x 3" stock for cover.
Approx. 1 yard or fiber for closure.
Various small pieces of scrapbook papers, ribbons and embellishments

Instructions:
Fold the 12 X 12 sheet of paper in half and open. Fold the edge that you just opened and fold into the middle. Do that on the other side. Turn your paper 90 degrees and do the same in the other direction. Your page should now be divided into 16 portions.

Cut paper as indicated in picture to the Cut to Here arrows.

You are now going to begin to accordion fold the paper. Start with one of the back side of the paper on the outside of the accordion fold.

Add ribbon or fiber closure.

Glue down one side of the accordion folded paper.

Then glue down the other side...

And...TA-DAAAA!!! Here is what you little album looks like!

Here are some samples of this album completed...
